Description
A little boy is awakened one night by a strange pink light shining outside his home. He runs downstairs, opens the door, and there in front of his house is a flying saucer and two people from another planet!
One extraterrestrial has eight eyes, the other has the head of a dog. But they are not scary, just different. He accepts their invitation to go for a flight, and in a few seconds they are swooping above the Eiffel Tower, a second later they are circling New York . . . all around the world they go. They skim the top of Mount Everest, return a beached whale to his home in the deep, and have a picnic of extraterrestrial specialties at the foot of the Great Wall of China.
Badel tells the story of the 3600-second journey from the boy’s point of view, with watercolor-tinted black-line drawings and straightforward prose tinted with magic. 3600 Seconds is a child’s dream but a book for those of all ages who dream of flying off to other places.
