As Dr. Yann Rougier presents in his new book, Would You Like to SLIM with Me? The SLIM-data method, our eating habits have changed more in the last 50 years than they have over the last 50 centuries. The human body, once a master of adaptation to its surroundings, is now much less able to keep up with this rapid change. Much of the food we eat today has been processed to the extent that its nutritional value is significantly reduced. As a result our metabolism is affected in such a way that our brain tells us we should eat more food than we need. This is responsible for the worldwide obesity epidemic of today.
Dr. Rougier encourages you to stimulate the “slimness memory” part of the brain in order for you to eat just the amount you need. He claims that in doing this, the body will be able to better adapt to metabolizing the food we eat today. He offers a color-coded guide to eating the right balance of foods by dividing them into four groups from those least to most easily stored as fat. This is the SLIM-data method. In addition he offers advice for food shopping, eating at home and at a restaurant.
