The goal of this atlas is to present a snapshot of the diversity of Islam in the world today. For the clearest possible picture, the author has structured the book in chronological order, with a mix of cartography and commentary.  Sidebars, charts, graphs, and genealogies, help render a complete picture of the evolution of the religion, from its birth in the 7^th Century CE to today, as it reaches across the globe.  This slight but exhaustive volume includes the migrations of Islam, its languages, countries and ethnicities, its political factions, ideologies, conflicts, borders, and more.
