Description
This marvelous dictionary is an inspired and subjective exploration of one of Venice’s greatest charms: its unique and beguiling color palette. Rather than straightforward definitions, the author meanders through topics and themes such as “ White of Istria”, “Mordoré” and “Rose of Tiepolo”, regaling the reader with little-known facts and surprising anecdotes drawn from art, literature, history, politics, fashion, and geography. Whether used as a reference book or read in sequence as interrelated stories, this little dictionary has something to offer everyone, from the dedicated artist seeking inspiration, to the liberal arts student, to the armchair traveler eager to learn more about this magical city.
