Description
For over ten years, Woody Allen has been conversing regularly with Jean-Michel Frodon at the release of each of his films in Paris. From these meetings, a long dialog of confidences and reflections came into being, which, after being published in Le Monde, became the basis for this book. The director speaks of his films from the 1990s—from Alice to Shadows and Fog, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Bullets Over Broadway, Everyone Says I Love You, Deconstructing Harry, and Small Time Crooks—from his personal methods of production and his relationship with the actors, to his choice of music and the importance of New York in his cinema. This conversation is followed by a text by Jean-Michel Frodon centered around Woody Allen’s development of his comic freedom, and his artistic and financial independence over the last 30 years.
