Description
The Sicilian Mafia in New York has its hands full controlling every way of making easy money, and making easy money. The simplest way to do this is to sell heroin. But upon closer examination of the thousands of unknown people who make organized crime possible, what looks like a splendidly well-organized drug traffic appears more like a hive of activity on the verge of catastrophe. We visit Rimbaud’s vivid world of gangsters, with their personal appetites and ambitions, their stupidity, humor, cruelty and vanity. This unique novel is a humorous rewriting of the standard hard-boiled detective story, and as an ex-Mafioso himself, Rimbaud is one of the few people able to describe this endless gangster war with such a pertinent and credible view.First published in 1974.
