The Cultural Services of the French Embassy, the French-American Foundation, and the French Publishers' Agency co-sponsored and hosted a series of discussions on the social sciences and humanities in France today called FRENCH THOUGHT TODAY: A PUBLISHING PERSPECTIVE. The event was held at La Maison Française of NYU on November 8th and 9th.
Six editors (see below) from major French publishing houses discussed topics related to the big trends in French social sciences today. Topics included philosophy, classical studies, and biography. There were also presentations on topics in French thought today and who the thinkers are, and on the importance of scholarly journals and reviews.
