François Dosse is a prominent French historian specialized in epistemology and intellectual history. He is well known for his biographies of such thinkers as Paul Ricoeur and Michel de Certeau, among others. In addition, he has written several books on French intellectual movements, including the widely acclaimed Histoire du structuralisme, published in the United States as History of Structuralism (University of Minnesota Press, 1998). Dosse currently teaches at the IUFM Créteil, the Paris Institute for Political Studies, and at the Center for Cultural History of the University of Versailles/Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.
