Jean-Paul Roux
Orientalist and chief of research at the French CNRS (National Center of Scientific Research), Jean-Paul Roux has dedicated a large part of his work to the study of Eastern and Asian peoples, as well as the comparative history of religions. Besides numerous articles, he has written some general works, among which are Histoire de l'Empire mongol (The History of Mongol Empire), L'Asie Centrale. Histoire et civilisations (Central Asia, History and Civilization) and Histoire des Turcs (Story of the Turks). Gengis Khan et l'Empire Mongol has been translated into English as Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire (Harry N. Abrams, 2003; Thames and Hudson, 2005).
