Catherine Cusset is the author of, among other works, Confessions d’une radine (Gallimard, 2003)a hilarious memoir of avarice, and La haine de la famille (Gallimard, 2001), a devastatingly candid examination of her relationship with her kin. Both books were bestsellers in France. In the US she published an English language original, the highly praised The Story of Jane (Scribner, August 2001) She is a former professor of literature at Yale University. She lives in New York.
