Chahdortt Djavann
Chahdortt Djavann was born in Iran in 1967 and spent her childhood in Teheran. After her father was imprisoned by the Shah during the 1979 revolution, she moved to Paris. There, she studied anthropology at l'Ecole des Hautes études en sciences sociales. Her impassioned plea for a secular society, Bas les voiles! was published in 2003 by Éditions Gallimard. Her first novel, Je viens d'ailleurs, was published in 2002 by Éditions Autrement.
