Michel Wieviorka is a sociologist and the director of the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. His most recent publications include La tentation antisémite : Haine des juifs dans la France d'aujourd'hui (Éditions Robert Laffont, 2005) and L'avenir de l'islam en France et en Europe : Les Entretiens d'Auxerre (Éditions Balland, 2003). He is one of France’s greatest authorities on this subject, sought after by the international media during the recent upheaval in Paris and around the country.
