Pierre-Jean Rémy is a member of the Académie Française. His previous professional positions include Director of the Villa Medici in Rome and President of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. He is also the recipient of several prestigious awards, most notably the “Prix Renaudot” for Le Sac du palais d’été (Gallimard, 1988), and the Académie Française’s “Grand Prix du roman” for Une Ville immortelle (Albin Michel, 1992).
