Madeleine Lazard is Professor Emeritus at the Paris’ Sorbonne University. She is a biographer of Montaigne, Brantôme and Agrippa d’Aubigné, and is President of the Society for Sixteenth Century Studies and of the International Society of Friends of Montaigne.
